St. Catherine Church

St Catherine Church Sketch in black and whiteA quaint Roman Catholic Church established in 1887, part of Saint Marianne Cope Parish, located in Broad Brook, CT, built in glory to serve the Catholic community in the area.

The church was dedicated to St. Catherine of Siena, a 14th-century Italian saint and patroness of the Dominican Order. Over the years, the church has undergone several renovations and updates. In 1957, a new wing was added to the church to accommodate a growing parish, and in the 1970s, a new altar and other liturgical furnishings were installed as part of the Vatican II reforms.

Today, St. Catherine Church remains an active parish in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hartford, serving the spiritual needs of the community through weekly Masses, sacraments, and various ministries. The church is also notable for its stained glass windows, which were designed by the famous artist, Emil Frei, and depict scenes from the life of St. Catherine of Siena.
